In Their Own Words
"My Employment Pass application involved an employer who hadn't sponsored before, which added steps I hadn't anticipated. The team walked through the ESD registration requirements and the pass application itself without making me feel I was causing inconvenience. Everything was explained before it was done."

"We applied for MM2H after an earlier attempt through another agent had not progressed. Merantau Chambers conducted a thorough eligibility check first and identified several issues with our earlier documentation. The revised submission went through without a request for additional information."

"The written matter assessment they provided at the start was genuinely useful — it laid out our options clearly and was honest about which had a realistic prospect of success. I had spoken to two other firms beforehand who had given me vague reassurances. Merantau Chambers gave me an actual analysis."

"As HR at a company bringing in three overseas hires, I needed someone who understood the employer side of the process — company ESD standing, payroll compliance, the documentation burden on the sponsoring entity. The team handled each application efficiently and kept me updated throughout."
Lim Tze Wei
HR Manager · Multiple Employment Passes · March 2025
"My wife's spouse pass renewal was complicated by a change in her documentation status. The practitioner who handled it was patient in explaining what the Immigration Department required, what we needed to prepare, and what the likely outcome would be. Nothing was rushed. The renewal came through on the first submission."
Robert Beaumont
British national · Spouse Pass Renewal · February 2025
"I was in a difficult situation — a cancelled pass and uncertainty about what options remained. The first consultation was handled discreetly and without any pressure to decide immediately. The assessment they gave me was clear-eyed about what was realistic, which I found more useful than optimism I couldn't rely on."

Three Engagements in Detail
These accounts describe the shape of three typical matters. Names and identifying details have been changed.
First-Time Sponsor, Category II Pass
The Situation
A Kuala Lumpur technology company wished to hire a specialist from South Korea who had no prior Malaysian work permit history. The company had also never previously registered with ESD.
What We Did
Conducted ESD company registration, reviewed the candidate's profile against Category II criteria, prepared documentation, and managed the submission. Identified and resolved a payroll documentation gap before filing.
Outcome
Employment Pass endorsed within six weeks of submission, without a request for additional documents. Dependant pass for accompanying spouse filed and endorsed subsequently.
MM2H After Policy Revision
The Situation
A retired couple from the Netherlands had been tracking MM2H requirements for several years but had not applied due to concerns about the programme's stability following recent policy changes.
What We Did
Conducted a current eligibility review, confirmed their financial documentation met the revised thresholds, coordinated medical and character clearances, and managed the application through to conditional approval and endorsement.
Outcome
Conditional approval received within four months. Full endorsement with ten-year renewable visa obtained the following month. Clients relocated to Malaysia on schedule.
Refusal Appeal, Employment Pass
The Situation
A Category I Employment Pass application had been refused on grounds the sponsoring company disputed. The candidate had an offer of employment that could not be held open indefinitely.
What We Did
Conducted matter assessment, identified the refusal basis, and filed a representation to the Director General with supporting documentation addressing each ground. Communicated regularly with the company throughout the process.
Outcome
Representation accepted; pass endorsed within five weeks of the appeal submission. Candidate commenced employment within the agreed start window.
